SCREW THAT!

Many well-meaning relatives and friends will tell us that we will get pregnant when it’s meant to be or it will just happen when the time is right. Well the time is right, and it’s right now!

Guess what, Aunt Gertie, what’s meant to be is creating my child in a test tube!

You’re not waiting anymore, you’re taking matters into your own hands. You have tried for over a year naturally, and nothing happened. Now, it’s time to let the fertility doctor tell you when it’s meant to be. What’s meant to be is a beautiful IVF baby created in a petri dish, and then freezing their embryo brothers and sisters. What’s meant to be is having your partner’s semen washed and then artificially inseminated into you on multiple occasions. Sometimes what’s meant to be is using someone else’s eggs and sperm to get you knocked up. The “baby you’re meant to have” will come but sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. You would go inside your own uterus and pull that embryo out yourself, if you could and that’s what’s meant to be.

What you are doing and however you’re doing it, is what’s meant to be.

    Exactly.

And I guess those teenager mothers are doing it right and it's just "their time" as well.

    Bull snot!

My pet peeve is "its your turn next!". My aunt said this to me a couple week ago, after discussing how each of her sons has had two kids each. The same cousins who weren't even MARRIED when we started trying, F-turns… if we're talking turns here, then her sons cut in line!

    Right on!
What's meant to be is for us to "help" the matter to make it happen at the right time, aka NOW.

SO TRUE!! and amen to all of the comments above. the crappiest people in the world have babies. so don't give me that bull!!

it is meant to be for me to have a baby now and this is why i am freaking out and taking matters into MY (our) own hands!

This reminds me of the the joke about the woman who dies and goes to heaven. When she gets there, she asks God why she never won the lottery, even though she prayed for it every day. God said "Well, you never bought a ticket." Sometimes, it's the right time for us to take matters into our own hands.

So true and nice note to end on. It's hard to watch other people who seem to have no business procreating popping children out year after year. While you have prepared this perfect environment and gotten yourself healthy, saved the money and gotten the spouse on board…and then NO baby. Who knows what timing is right. No matter what, when your baby is born, those same wise ones will say the baby finally came when the time was right. (You can justify pretty much anything with that line.)

i love this!! So many family members have actually looked down on me at first for going to an infertility specialist. they kept saying that it owld just happen when it happened and not to try and push things. well guess what….i'm pushing!!!! lol and it's a good thing i decided to go to a specialist bc they found out i have multiple polyps on my uterus. if i would have just listened to my family (who has no idea what i'm going through) i would have never found out about the polyps and once we did get pregnant i would have definitly miscarried according to my RE. Thanks for writing all these little blogs :)i greatly enjoy them!!
