Only an infertile could have fake morning sickness.

During your two week wait, there are several occasions where you feel nauseated or think you feel sick. Maybe you’ll wake up in the morning and you feel like you are hit with a wave of nausea. You feel both awful and excitedly happy thinking that you must be pregnant. Than later on, another wave of nausea will hit you and right after dinner, you race to the toilet believing that you will be sick at any moment. But then you feel better and secretly feel that it must be pregnancy because you are rarely sick. So where is your positive pregnancy test? Thinking back, maybe you actually felt ill from that caffeine free milk-uccino you’ve been drinking instead of coffee or maybe it was the extreme amounts of pineapple, brazilian nuts, yams, red meat and folic acid you’ve been ingesting during your two week wait. But you MUST be pregnant! You ate just a simple bowl of pasta and then felt so sick right after.  Maybe it was too much garlic but also the the color of that Mountain Dew drink really seemed to put you over the edge. Really, does a soda really have to be that green in color? Yuck.

Seriously, only an infertile could experience fake morning sickness, feel extremely pleased during the nausea, only to find out later you are indeed, very unpregnant. It takes a special talent. Really.

  2. Ashley says:

Not to mention if you are taking estrogen and progesterone shots! During my 2WW, the progesterone made me so sick I lost my lunch driving one day! And I was very NOT pregnant!

I get the lot: sore boobs, feeling sick, bloated, tired and I even have the spotting going on – that’s how my AF rolls. But somehow I still manage to believe every month that this is it!

Ugh. I get this ALL The freakin time. The first month on Clomid I basically tricked myself into thinking I was nauseous. When really it was just underdone Prime Rib at a fancy dinner I went to. LAME!

I can make myself feel nauseated at the drop of a hat, it really is a special talent! Thanks for the props!

P.S. Are Brazilian nuts supposed to be good for fertility??? ;)

  6. Kaley says:

Kitty- I heard Brazilian nuts were good for fertility but who knows! I ate a bunch and nothing happened.

I’ve had morning sickness almost every morning since I was a teenager. I can’t tell you how many people have asked me, “could you be pregnant?” Errrr.

  11. Emma says:

Oh yes, been there, turned out to be the folic acid on an empty stomach. Can’t dare mention that I might feel ill though, can’t stand telling everyone I’m not pregnant afterwards, and then watch them looking at me pitifully. Thanks for the giggles (and the reassurance I’m not alone…or crazy).

  12. Where's my BFP? says:

When my husband left for his first deployment we had been trying for awhile. I was so sick everything I ate came back up for a month just to figure out it was stress. Even his family started talking about it. Thanks for ths wishful thinking but I was not pregnant.

  13. Amanda says:

What’s so bad is that I literally just ate pasta and now I’m nauseated.
And after about 15 minutes of this…I also began experiencing back pain, headaches fatigue and every other pregnancy symptom know to man of course..

Too bad I tested this morning (2 days late) and got a BFN

    grrrrrrr

Ha. How about morning sickness even when NOT in the 2ww? And when you’re definitely NOT pregnant? You’d think I would know by now to not take bcp’s on an empty stomach, even if I take it right before bed. Genious, I tell ya!

maybe it’s the amount of time we spend looking at our urine and menstrual blood that makes us nauseous!
